Freezing Time

Every day they change and grow a bit more into the person they are becoming, and without fail, every day they inspire me. I am not sure what to do with the ache of wanting to savor time and slow down the clock, but photography offers me a bit of a therapy session and gives me the tools to freeze time. I'm so grateful for these three children of mine and all their gifts, loves, and curiosities. I'm also grateful that they are still for 5 minutes so that I can snap a few treasures.

Maya & Simi | Maternity

NYC event planner Maya Katz of Alimay Events and her daughter, Simi, took a few covetous moments together to have their photos taken before baby brother joins their family this month. Maya and Simi's love and bond is truly beautiful—so full of joy and life! How sweet it is that they will have these images to celebrate this beautiful season!

The Youngs IV

I have had the unique privilege of photographing Ben and Catherine's engagement photos, their wedding day, portraits of their oldest daughter shortly after she was born and now their beautiful family of four. Our lives seem to cross paths at multiple intersections, across boundaries that only make sense when thinking that surely only God must have put our feet on the same paths. It is an absolute privilege to be able to document and preserve memories throughout their journey together. Here are just a few of my favorites from our most recent photoshoot back in Texas in July.

The Blaymore Family | An Afternoon at the Beach

It was the perfect early August afternoon for a portrait session at Compo Beach in Westport, CT with the Blaymores and their precious little girl. It was a gift to document this beautiful chapter of their lives before they welcome baby girl number 2 so very soon. Congratulations Blaymores!

Welcome Sol

Our dear friends welcomed their absolutely perfect baby boy, Sol, into their incredible family after three years of waiting through the adoption process. It was an absolute joy to document these newborn photos of their family in their beautiful coastal Connecticut home.

Yale University Art Gallery | The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art: Selections from the Linda Leonard Schlenger Collection and the Yale University Art Gallery

It was exciting to pick up a copy of The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art from the Yale University Art Gallery the other day to find a portrait of Mrs. Schlenger that I photographed in June 2014. Many congratulations to Sequoia Miller, Jock Reynolds, Linda Schlenger and the entire Yale University Art Gallery staff on all of your hard work to bring this wonderful exhibit to life.

September 4, 2015–January 3, 2016 @ Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Connecticut

Over the last 25 years, Linda Leonard Schlenger has amassed one of the most important collections of contemporary ceramics in the country. This exhibition features over 80 objects from the Schlenger collection by leading 20th-century ceramicists–including John Mason, Jim Melchert, Kenneth Price, Lucie Rie, and Peter Voulkos–alongside works in other media from the Yale University Art Gallery’s permanent collection by artists such as Hans Hofmann, Willem de Kooning, Isamu Noguchi, Mark Rothko, and Edward Ruscha. Although critically lauded within the studio-craft movement, works by these ceramicists are only now coming to be recognized as integral to the wider field of contemporary art. By interspersing these exceptional examples of the medium with other objects from this period, including painting, sculpture, and works on paper, this exhibition aims to reexamine the position of postwar ceramic sculpture within the context of contemporary art, highlighting the formal, historical, and theoretical affinities among the works on view.

THE SULLIVAN FAMILY // OLD GREENWICH, CT

We couldn't have asked for better weather for Laura & Sam's family portrait session with their precious 6-month old son. Greenwich Point Park provided the perfect backdrop to a gorgeous day. Laura and Sam carry a beauty in their souls that was an absolute joy to photograph. From the moment I met them, I knew they were special.

Thank you both for the beautiful afternoon, conversation, and for the privilege of photographing your delightful family.
